These notes cover local inference on Apple silicon: MLX, Metal kernels, quantization, and the servers built on top of them. Each post starts from a measurement and ends with the command that reproduces it.

The goal is a record of the work in order. A kernel change that lands in one project often has a second life upstream, and a dated write-up makes that history easy to follow and easy to check.
